Frequently asked questions

Getting started

What is Socks Proxy?

Socks Proxy sells SOCKS5 proxies through two Android apps and this website. There are three kinds:

  • Premium — 30 days of residential bandwidth from real devices, metered by the gigabyte.
  • Standard — dedicated IP addresses, rotating or sticky, priced per address.
  • Classic — cheap shared SOCKS5 from a live pool that refreshes all day.
Do I need an account?

You can browse the classic proxy list without one. To unlock a proxy you need an account, because that is where your coins are kept.

Signing up is free. You can create an account in either app, or on this website — here it is set up together with your first coin purchase. Create an account.

What is the difference between the two apps?

Socks Proxy is the free app, paid with coins. Socks 5 Proxy & Pro uses gold coins and also offers subscriptions.

They keep separate accounts and separate balances. When you log in on this website, pick the app your account belongs to — the coins you see and spend are that app’s.

How do I log in on the website?

Use the same email and password as your app. Press Log in, choose which app the account is for, and sign in. Tick “Keep me signed in” if this is your own device.

If it says the account belongs to the other app, switch the app and try again.

Coins & payments

How do I buy coins?

Go to Wallet / recharge, pick a pack and press Buy with crypto. You are taken to a payment page where you choose a coin — USDT, BTC, ETH, LTC, TRX and 50+ others.

Once the payment confirms, the coins are added to the account you are signed in with automatically — usually within a few minutes.

Can I pay with a card?

The website takes crypto only. Card payments are available inside the apps through Google Play.

I paid but my coins have not arrived

Crypto payments need a few network confirmations, which usually takes a few minutes. Check Wallet → Your purchases for the order’s status.

If the payment has confirmed and the coins still are not there, send us the order reference shown on that row and we will sort it out — contact us.

I closed the payment page by mistake

Open Wallet → Your purchases and press Pay now on that order. It reopens the same invoice while it is still valid (up to 12 hours). After that, use Buy again.

Am I charged if I don’t finish paying?

No. Nothing is charged until you complete the payment, and an unpaid invoice simply expires.

Can I move coins between the two apps?

No — the two apps keep separate balances. Coins bought on the website go to the app you were signed in with when you bought them.

Subscriptions

What does a subscription include?

Subscriptions are for Socks 5 Proxy & Pro accounts. While one is active, classic proxies are free to unlock — as many as you need — and each plan also comes with bonus coins.

Plans run for 7, 30 or 60 days. See the current prices on the Wallet page.

What happens if I renew early?

The new days are added on top of what you have left — you never lose days by renewing early.

Classic proxies

How does unlocking a classic proxy work?

Browse Classic proxies by country and city for free. When you find one you want, press Unlock — the price in coins is shown on the button. You then get the host, port, username and password to copy.

With an active subscription, unlocking costs nothing.

What if the proxy is offline when I unlock it?

We test the proxy the moment you unlock it. If it has gone offline, nothing is taken from your balance and it is removed from the list.

My classic proxy stopped working

Classic proxies come from a shared live pool, so they can go offline at any time. The pool is checked all day and dead proxies are removed — unlock another one from the list.

Before assuming it is dead, check your settings with the setup guides: most “not working” proxies turn out to be a missing username or password.

Where do I find proxies I already unlocked?

On your Account page under Your proxies. The classic list clears every night at midnight UTC, so copy anything you still want before then.

Which proxy formats can I copy?

On the Account page, Copy all gives you four formats, for whatever your tool expects:

host:port:user:pass
user:pass@host:port
socks5://user:pass@host:port
host:port

Setup guides

every guide needs: host, port, username, password
Windows & Mac — Proxifier (recommended)

Proxifier sends any program’s traffic through a SOCKS5 proxy, including ones with a username and password.

  1. Open Profile → Proxy Servers… → Add.
  2. Enter the proxy’s address and port, and choose SOCKS Version 5.
  3. Tick Enable under Authentication and enter the username and password.
  4. Press Check to test it, then OK.
  5. Say yes when it asks to use this proxy by default, or set which apps use it under Profile → Proxification Rules.
Chrome, Edge & Firefox

Browsers cannot log in to a SOCKS5 proxy that needs a username and password on their own. Use one of these instead:

  • Proxifier (above) — covers every browser at once.
  • A proxy extension that states it supports SOCKS5 with authentication.

Then open the IP checker — the address and location should now be the proxy’s.

Android

Unlock or buy the proxy in our app or on this website, copy it, and paste it into any Android app that supports SOCKS5 with a username and password.

Enter the host, port, username and password in their own fields rather than as one line, unless the app asks for a single line.

Bots & scripts (curl, Python)

Use the socks5h:// form so the proxy also resolves domain names — otherwise your own DNS can give your location away.

curl

curl -x socks5h://USER:PASS@HOST:PORT https://api.ipify.org

Python (pip install "requests[socks]")

import requests
p = "socks5h://USER:PASS@HOST:PORT"
print(requests.get("https://api.ipify.org", proxies={"http": p, "https": p}).text)

Both print the proxy’s IP address if it is working.

How do I check my proxy is working?

With the proxy switched on, open the IP checker. The IP address and location should be the proxy’s, not yours, and the disguise score shows anything that still gives you away — like your time zone or a WebRTC leak.
